So, the other day I was on the 28 bus heading to the D train. Got in through the back doors (after I paid and asked the driver to open the back door of course) to avoid the dummies that stand in the front, knowing that the back of the bus is empty. Some girl looks at me and rolls her eyes. Barf ! @ the regular Bronx chicks . I see she has a Moncler but there are too many patches ! FAKE ! She thought she was cute too. Her stop came up, she stood in front of me , looked at me up and down with her lips sticking out. Major Hoodrat status. I didn't do anything but smile at her . You know, the "you're the joke of the day, Bitch!" smile.
The lady next to me taps her male friend on the back. " That's the coat." I know it was wrong of me but I could not hold it in. "It's fake." Yes, I did say it. She asked me how and I told her why. She then told me that she almost purchased one for $200 from a guy on the street. (I'm still trying to find the store that sells fakes.) I gave her the talk. "The original price is almost $800. What kind of person would sell a $800 dollar coat for $200 dollars . He's obviously not making any money out of it, if it were real. Fake one yes. Real one no. Of course he would tell you it's real. The only places to get a real one are Neiman, Bloomies, Saks and etc . AND we have a recession going on. I love that coat but it's not that serious! That's rent and food money." I didn't say those exact words but that was my message. She said "That's the truth." My stop came and we parted ways. I felt good about my good fashionista deed of the day.
I am still obsessed with that wet down jacket look . I actually found one at Steve and Barry's (Palisades mall ) for $10 !!!!! It was %50 off. It's an XS ( I rarely find my size when it comes to cheap coats ) warm, and cute. I no longer want the Moncler. My coat saved me over $700. HA HA! You have probably seen me wearing the coat and couldn't even tell.
I don't need all of my stuff to be name brand . That is what the hood needs to learn . I do invest in expensive pieces here and there like coats, shoes, bags, jeans and accesories when needed . I mix and match them with cheap stuff all the time. HELLO , 4 dollar forever 21 t-shirts ! While others are out there bragging about their expensive shit , I brag about what I got on sale. That's more $$$ in the bank, right?
