It's not the Hip-Hop we grew up with ...
Back in the day the only time I was able to hear any kind of Hip-Hop was by sitting at my window or playing outside in the streets. The only Hip-Hop song allowed to be played in my house until I was in middle school was "It Takes Two" by Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock because my Dad got me the single. My parents did not really understand the words but their friends sure did and would share their feelings against Hip Hop with them.
Hey! Young World brings Hip Hop to another level. It's Hip Hop for children. The concept was born out of necessity to offer children positive Hip-Hop music. After the completion of the first CD entitled "True Friendship," it was obvious that it was like no other CD. Instead of the CD being a collection of 10 children songs based on different stories, the CD tells one story using 10 songs.
The main focus of the HYW writers and producers is to address key issues that children deal with and can relate to with a strong emphasis on conflict resolution. Along with each CD you can purchase the storybook to read along with the CD. The story book was necessary for each volume to allow them to elaborate on the moral and lesson of the stories.
Future plans for HYW include to combine great music and stories in expanding their volumes of CD's and books, as well as holiday installments. Fans can also look forward to a continuous output of fun and stimulating coloring and activity books, while ultimately looking forward towards a HYW cartoon series.
The number one goal for any parent is to create a world where their children feel safe, happy, and confident; to know that they are special and unique and also offer them the best of the world morally, emotionally and intellectually. HYW is committed to the exact same goal. I definately think it's a great Holiday gift. You can purchase CD's and books by clicking HERE !

Guilty Pleasure :
I had an obsession with Barbie up until I was 10 years old. I would make clothes and home accessories for all my Barbies. There were no Ken's allowed so my Barbies were always single with the coolest one of a kind outfits. Kind of like me minus my cool outfits being one of a kind ;o). I recently found out that Barbie has teamed up with another obsession of mine, Christian Louboutin. I immediately thought about dishing out the $150 for the Barbie and the red sole Barbie shoes. SMH. I promised myself I wouldn't make big purchases for myself for at least another month after I went in for my birthday. Hmmmm... hopefully there will be some left next month.

Quote of the Day
Courtesy of the Daily Love:
"Don't listen to those who say, 'You're taking too big a chance.' Michelangelo would have painted the Sistine floor, and it would surely be rubbed out by today. Most important, don't listen when the little voice of fear inside you rears its ugly head and says. 'They're all smarter than you out there. They're more talented, they're taller, blonder, prettier, luckier, and they have connections. I firmly believe that if you follow a path that interests you, not to the exclusion of love, sensitivity, and cooperation with others, but with the strength of conviction that you can move others by your own efforts, and do not make success or failure the criteria by which you live, the chances are you'll be a person worthy of your own respects."

The Process of Love
Courtesy of the Daily Love .
Love is a funny thing you know. I don't know about you, but I am a hopeless romantic and I truly believe that Love is the most powerful energy in this Uni-verse. But Love, being a mystical energy, is a playful friend and a diligent teacher. Contrary to what our Egos think, Love has it's own agenda. What is Love's motive you ask? To me, Love is the energy that guides us to our happiness, our co-manager of this existence we call Life. And sometimes, the greatest act of Love comes from not getting what you THINK you want. And sometimes it means learning how to let go. And sometimes, it means winning and obtaining your Heart's desire.
But I think, where we humans get caught up, is that (speaking for myself), we are not always tapped into a Universal timetable. We are primarily a culture of instant gratification. I am convinced I have been put on this Earth to learn Patience this Lifetime.
And what I'm learning is that everything we do is a creative process. Our work, our play, our relationships, our Loving, our learning, our doing and being are all each a creative process. And just like any creative process, each process has it's own agenda and lessons built into it to teach us.
Using nature as a prime example of this insight, consider any seed. When a seed is planted in proper soil, with proper nutrients and conditions, the seed grows. And none of us would be so silly to plant a seed, and then an hour or day later dig up the seed and wonder why it hasn't ripened and born it fruit.
If we can learn to see our lives as a creative process of unfoldment, I think we could better understand our lives.
The best relationships, business and works of art have required time to incubate. Finding an epic lover means you are signing up for a deep process of getting to know the other person, that kind of thing doesn't happen over night. Building a massively successful business, creating a masterpiece of art, all of this takes time and patience.
I know there is a great lover, an amazing artist, a beautiful body and an ambitious entrepreneur inside of you dying to be born. Have your goals, keep them in mind and stay in inspiring situations to give you the energy you need to keep moving, but, if you can truly befriend the process of creation and get comfortable with taking little steps that add up to truly long distances, you are surely walking the path of mastery.
The seed of Love is planted in everything that you do, enjoy the process, let miracles happen and trust that your visions are real. And know that with every dream come the required lessons to become a master and pull them down. It's a blessing, this process, love it!

Currently Reading : The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
This book is definitely helping me understand why I am sometimes the way I am and why people are the way they are, not 100% but a little more than I was ever understanding. I am currently in the section of the book where Tolle writes about letting go of Psychological time. What is Psychological time ? Psychological time is when you keep identifying yourself with the past and have this obsession with the future. Tolle says, " All negativity is caused by an accumulation of psychological time and denial of the present. Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry- all forms of fear- are caused by too much future and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much pass and not enough presence."
I was particularly touched by this section of the book last night because of a situation that has been going on for years with a friend of mine, that once again has come up. There is a underlying issue between us that keeps coming up through her negative actions towards me. I am not a mind reader , therefore I have no idea of what she has been upset at. I mean every time we do see each other, things seem fine to me, and then I get some negative text message. It has come to the point that I have been disturbed and actually asked her what the problem is and recommended this book to her. She misunderstood what I was trying to say and treated our conversation as an end of our friendship. This was not my intention.
It was wrong of me to recommend the book, but I have been trying and trying and trying to figure out what I did wrong and I have yet to hear an answer. All I keep getting is cold shoulders and unanswered calls. It just so happens that I was at this point in the book last night. Even though I have been told to stop stressing this issue , that it is out of my control. I did not believe it until I read this paragraph. IT IS OUT OF MY CONTROL. Unfortunately this person is clearly living in the past and not in the present and can not get over what ever the issue is.
I have done everything I can to figure this out. I can not figure it out without the other person's help. Therefor I will continue with my life until the person comes to the realization of why they are who they are and tries to do something about it. I have come to the realization that though I may be some sort of "life coach" to some people, I can not help anyone , unless they start looking within themselves first.

"It's simple. Life is messy. Your dreams are real. Only you have to believe it. Excuses are non. You're always taken care of. Your thoughts create your life. What's happening to others has nothing to do with you. The future is not the past. Fear is an illusion. True love comes from within. The time is now. What are you waiting for?"

Recession Proof business
I have been very interested in businesses that are doing well during this recession because they inspire me to run wild with mine so that I too can do well. This story in particular blew my mind. This 27 year old guy, Jason Sandler from Jacksonville, Florida lost his job and thought of the most creative way to make money. He decided to become a walking advertisement.
He started on January 1st of this year charging $1 to wear a T-shirt with a logo on it and everyday after he added $1 more to the fee. All he does is wear the shirt, take a picture of it, sends it to his friends via email and vlogs about the company on his blog. Jason will be making about $84,000 this year just to wear T-shirts with logos on them. Geeez, Talk about saving money, with 365 t-shirts in your closet given to you for free, why even think of buying any?
Next year Jason plans on bringing a 2nd person on to the team starting out with $2 on January 1st and adding $2 dollars to everyday after.

Recession Proof Business
I was just reading the New York Times and came upon this article, I had to check Rent the Runway out. I immediately thought how smart and awesome this idea of renting dresses for special occasions was. In today's tough economy it's hard to start a business that will work when no one has the funds. The fact that I can rent a dress for $50- $200 dollars for four nights is amazing. I wish I would have known this sooner. If I did, my Nicole Miller dress that I wore for my cousin's wedding will not be sitting in my closet. The truth is that women rarely wear a "special occasion dress" twice. We will spend hundreds of dollars on that special dress and not wear it again. Now we can rent as many dresses as we want and still have the closet space for our everyday wears. The site is invitation only, but for a limited time you can sign up for the waiting list. Get yourself on it now !

RIP DJ AM
WOW... Yeah... here I am once again sitting in complete shock. Some crazy final destination shit. When you have to go you have to go, right? I wish death was an easy thing to take , but unfortunately it's not. DJ AM was a great DJ and I am glad I got to experience his work once in my life time. I called it my Best DJ moment. I have the worst memory, especially when it comes to a DJ playing a set. I am sure I wasn't the only one that remembers "smack your bitch up... and live your life eheh eheh eheh" that night in February @ Mansion NYC , right around the whole Rihanna and Chris Brown Drama. I went Crazy! 'Til this day every time I here either song , I think of the other one right away. That is what I call awesome work! He had Mansion dancing non stop like a DJ is supposed to. It's a moment I will never forget . I feel like heaven is having a party with all these talented people leaving the world. One lesson from all of those who we have lost is : Life is too short... Live your dream.
This news immediately put me into deep thoughts. How many of us are living our dreams? I know I mentioned this before and i'll mention it again. It makes me sad when some friends of mine tell me "I wish I could be more like you and do what I want to do." I keep telling them "im just doing what makes me happy, and you can do the same too. Life is too short to be miserable." But they don't go through with it and and stay miserable. I learned from a young age , from loosing young people close to me in such a short period of time, that death does not discriminate. You're here today and gone tomorrow... how sad would it be if you never attempted to follow your dreams? Think about this .
All of these people that have been passing this summer all had a chance to live their dreams and they went for it. Sad that they are no longer part of this world but they will always live on in all of our hearts because they followed their dreams and were able to expose their out of this world talent. I am a true believer that everyone has a talent of their own. It takes passion to bring it out. Look inside you. What are you passionate about? Take your passion and work from there toward your dreams... I don't want to hear that you can't anymore.

Question in my mind :
Lately I have been bothered more than usual by those that can not be alone. They are in a relationship as soon as the last one ends, not giving themselves time to get to know themselves. That's when I asked myself: Would I rather be the girl that ALWAYS has a boyfriend , or the girl that is ALWAYS single? I also asked my social network, here are a few answers from Twitter and Facebook:
"I would just rather be happy, even if that meant being single. More important to take good care of yourself because in the end you are all you have!"Here are a couple of answers from guys:
"I rather have a man by my side that loves me no matter what, will teach me something new everyday, will always be a rock for me when i'm down, will be the friend I never knew I could have, will be all I wanted in me and more to me in my own eyes... coming home to that man, eating dinner, and waking up to that man, those are the happiest moments I remember feeling full of life. my heart always felt love"
"Single because you dont have to worry about anyone or worry about wasting your money lol so you save hahaaa!"
"Mejor sola que mal acompanda... At least I'll have my options open."
"Single baby....... i surely miss my single life :( para andar atras de lo pepe, pepeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Single but is always nice to have some1 : )"
"neither! how about single and dating a few."
"are those the only two options? Lol... I'd rather be the girl that just is/ has ... Love."
" a girl that's always single but has people to fool around with ;-) yeah I said it...lets keep this real people!"
"I would rather be the girl that is always single!!
"Always single ... bcuz gals that always hv bf's need a man to validate themselves and that's not wassup atleast to me !And its usually self esteem or Daddy issues !!"
"Both types have incredible issues for the fact that they ALWAYS have to have either."
My Thoughts:
I rather be the girl that is always single. If you can't be alone at all , you're not loving yourself as much as you're supposed to. You need to love yourself in excess so that you have extra love to give to someone else when you are ready.

Currently reading : The Art of Seduction by Robert Greene
As I was walking aimlessly around the city again , I checked my tweet and realized my friend was only a few blocks away looking for a Barnes and Noble. I called her up and we took the trip together. In her hand she had The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and was looking for The Art of Seduction, also by Robert Greene. "It's a great book, you have to read it," she said, refering to The 48 Laws of Power. I picked up The Art of Seduction from the bookcase and read the 1st page of the preface. I immediately decided that I MUST read the book. A day later ... I can't seem to put it down. I wish I were actually reading it right now but unfortunately I have too much work to do. Don't be fooled by the word Seduction . This book is def not only about seducing a man/woman , its about seducing society and learning history as well. I will keep you posted on my thoughts on The Art of Seduction as I read through it during the next few days. I have a feeling I'll be done in a week and a half the most :O). It takes me FOREVER to read books since I ussually dont have the time or they aren't too interesting . Have you read The Art of Seduction? If So , What are your thoughts... feel free to comment :O)

Up date :
I must admit I have not been giving the Buzygurl blog my all. I have been doing an half- assed job and that is not what I shouldbe doing. I must go hard or go home. That is my new motto. GO HARD OR GO HOME. I am tired of being discouraged because of other's opinions about me and my projects. I am teaching myself to not care. The truth is that those people do not do anything for me except clog my aura with the negative vibes I have been trying to keep away. I feel like a lot of you out there should do the same. If we don't go hard towards our goals, who else is going to do it for us? life is only one, we must do as we please, as long as its possitive.
I have been doing a lot of thinking , and I feel as if some of those thoughts should be placed on my blog. I want to help you out and I want to help myself out. I want this blog to be an inspiration to anyone who doesn't believe they can make it. If I make it, you can definately make it. Of course there is always a struggle and it is not easy to make it to where you want to be in life. All those people that are making it look easy are just fooling themselves. It takes hard work to create something awesome, especially and awesome life. That is my goal. To create what I believe is an awesome life for myself while being an inspiration to a lot of you.
Within the next couple of weeks, you will come to see changes on www.buzygurl.com. Not only will I be blogging about fashion , music and events . I will also be blogging about life in general. I am going to keep it as positive as I can. There is going to be a lot more book reading and reflecting. I have decided as of last Friday that I will only read books that will teach me something. Novels don't do that for me. Therefore I will read books on philosophy.
This may sound crazy , but I feel like my calling is to make a difference in this world. To teach people that by thinking positive you attract possitive. If you somehow attract negative, you need to turn it into a possitive. The world will be a better place if a whole lot of us thought the same way. So yeah, welcome to my journey...

I loved that he performed Attrevete and the whole band performed the dance to Thriller. I've been a Calle 13 fan for a while now. The last performance he had "Fuck Bush" written on his back. Who wouldn't love him? His words are craaaaaaaaaaaazy! Check out the pics after the words !

RIP MJ
When I heard on Twitter I turned on the TV and searched the net right away. I was confused. I believed MJ died and then I didn't until CNN confirmed . They were the last to confirm. I felt weak, broke out in cold sweat and cried a few tears. My sister'swho are 4 and 5 years younger than me didn't understand why I reacted that way. I honestly did not think I would've reacted the way I did. Our generation experienced something really special. Unlike my sisters I was a Michael Jackson fan since I could remember. My dad would buy me stickers, books, magazines, records, anything that had to do with MJ, my dad would bring it home for me. My favorite song was BAD. Everytime I hear it , I am taken back to my 4th bday party . When that was all I wanted to hear. That was all my parents would play for me ,on a reg day at home, I was an addict for BAD.
This kind of grievance has also been an experience. We are grieving and celebrating his life with the world. It's not just with our family and close friends. While others are over it. There are other's out there like myself who are still in disbelief. Who woke up this morning and asked themselves "did that really happen? Is he really gone?" It's ok for us to feel this way and it's ok for others to not. We all loved and appreciated MJ on all different levels. I know someone who's even a bigger fan than I am, and I know for sure that she must be feeling it more than I am. For some he was just Michael Jackson and for others he was an Idol, a Legend, an inspiration, someone we would turn to , to make us feel good. MJ's music always made me feel good. and it still will. My mind goes blank and I just enjoy the moment without thinking of anything but the song and taking in that moment. I am asking that you respect the feelings of others. You may have not felt the same about him but to the majority of us he will always be kept close to our hearts.

Dear Diary:
A couple of nights ago I was at work speaking to one of my co-workers. She was telling me about The Secret . She had just finished watching the movie and felt like her life was changing already. The next morning as I was searching for a book to buy my dad the first thing that popped under the search was The Secret. I did a little research. I ordered the movie through Netflix and dragged my family to Barnes and Nobles with me before Father's day dinner. I started reading it as soon as I got into the car and started applying some of "the secret" to my life right away. One thing I decided to do was to not sympathize or agree with complaints. The truth is that The more complaining you do and the more you surround yourself with people who complain, you will attract more things to complain about. I really feel great and a lot of good has been coming my way. Here is a 20 minute clip from The Secret:

Just now I started reading my 2009 horoscope book which I used to read every morning. I need to get back into that habit. My horoscope for last Friday reads:
Although you may appear to be a big time party animal, at heart you may actually be a workaholic, which could be running your life right now. If you have allowed negative habits to become all-consuming, acting now to discard unhealthy practices can be rewarding. Your willpower and motivation to stick with a plan are strong.
Sunday's Horoscope reads:
The resources of other people , financial security , and romantic encounters are emphasized throughout the next four weeks, with forward progress being made in these areas.
Today's horoscope reads:
Positve cosmic patterns outnumber unhelpful influences as this new working week begins.
I'll keep you posted on how my life is going living by "the secret".

Putting you on to some Dominican Music
As I was walking to the door of our apartment I was listening to the loud music my upstairs neighbor had on. I swore it was an old playero song because of the beat. Then my sister started chanting " PEPE PEPE." I was like "WTF is that ?" "You don't know about 'PEPE?'" She tuned me in by showing me this You tube video:
This took place in DR. (yes this is how some of us get down in DR. Parties in the streets all day everyday) I couldn't believe the reaction to this song. The truth is that it is not saying much, but yet it's a hit and it makes you want to do the "PEPE" dance. I didn't even know there was a "PEPE" dance. I just started dancing to it and it just happened that I started moving to the beat the same way everyone else was. It just came naturally to me. So i started clicking around You tube and found the video:
I still don't understand what the song is about, but I still want to dance to it. Like I said earlier the beat reminds me of Playero music I would dance to at high school hookie parties or the usual house parties. I have realized that this beat is coming back again with a different name: Dembow. Two more songs that are hot right now are :

Elle July issue..
Awesome ... Must read from cover to cover ! It's very inspiring, especially for you girls working hard in the music industry. As I was reading the Editor's note , I thought of you girls. She pin pointed a lot of topics most of you have had conversations with me about. I feel like I have a whole new view on women in the industry now.
