OMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....

Intenders of the highest good time :

As we replace the negative with the positive we see that the results of having made this shift are filtering down into our daily experiences where we receive the gifts we truly desire

To you confused people ...

I was not in Europe... pay attention to the authors... I have multiple writers . DUH lol

Bonjour to Obama!

I was in Europe earlier this month and it was incredible how many people are keeping up with the U.S elections. My first encounter was in London. I entered Selfridges in search of a new piece of luggage. After swiping my Bank of America debit card, the sales representative realized I lived in the states and asked if I would like for my total to be converted into dollars. I said yes and we continued the transaction. Upon giving me my receipt, he asks, “So who are you voting for? I hope not McCain…” I laughed and he apologized for being so forward. I told him it was ok and we had a brief discussion on the candidates.

A few days after that, I found myself lost in the streets of Rome. I stopped a gentleman to ask for directions and before telling me how to get to my destination he asked where I was from. He immediately inquired who I was voting for. “McCain is no good,” said the man.

The final Obama encounter was in Paris, outside of the Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris. Vendors were selling Barack Obama T’s and pins right next to Moulin Rouge post cards and French paintings. I spoke to one of the vendors and he said it’s one of his best selling souvenirs.

The Year of the Shirts: What is an electioneering law?

We’ve seen so many people wearing election shirts. It’s not just “Vote For Obama,” or “Vote for McCain,” it’s become a fashion trend. Many of the urban stores like Jimmy Jazz or Dr. Jay’s are selling these shirts and are even sold out!

In the past couple of days, however, there have been mass text messages and emails being sent out advising our friends and colleagues not to wear the shirts to the polls. The Board of Elections has indicated that a person can be turned away from the polls and asked to return after they change their shirt. It’s part of the electioneering laws. The growing concern is, how many people will actually go home, change their shirt, and return to the polls? Which is why we need to continue spreading the word.

A Huffington Post article addresses this in depth and gives some history on the law. This wasn’t such an issue in the past, but now we find ourselves in an era where politics is actually a hot topic and even a fashion statement.

Girl or Grown Woman ?

I got this email from a friend. Pretty nice. I think all women should read this. I myself am a grown woman. Except for one thing (it's in bold) . Your mouth just probably dropped cause I said this. The key to being grown is to be truthful to yourself first. I have to admit I have been working on this . I refuse to chase aimlessly now-a-days. I refuse to chase at all. I am just chillin, like I said before , if love is meant for me , it will find me. When it finds me I will know. There have been many preposterous men or shall I say boys in my life that have helped me figure out what I really want. These guys were what I thought I wanted but the truth was that they were no where near. Thanks guys, without you I would have still been like a lot of "in a relationship" girls making themselves believe that they are happy when they really aren't. For me to really give my time to a man he needs to stand out and prove to me that he is not the ordinary dude, without trying too hard. The fact that it will be within his character to treat me with respect and be honest with me would seriously draw me closer.
I read this poem and I laughed cause I do know a lot of "girls" and they just don't get how unearthly it is to act that way. I am hoping this post wakes some of them "girls" up.

Girls want to control the man in their life.
Grown women know that if he's truly hers,
he doesn't need controlling.

Girls check you for not calling them.

Grown women are too busy to
realize you hadn't.

Girls are afraid to be alone.
Grown women revel in being alone;
using it as a time for personal
growth.

Girls ignore the good guys.
Grown women ignore the bad guys.

Girls make you come home.
Grown women make you want to come home.

Girls leave their schedule wide-open
and wait for a guy to call and
make plans.
Grown women make their own plans and
nicely tells him to get fit in
where he can.

Girls worry about not being pretty
and/or good enough
for
their man.
Grown women know that they are
pretty and good enough for any man.

Girls try to monopolize all their
man's time (won't let him hanging
with his boyz or take a step without her).
Grown women realize that a lil' bit
of space makes the 'together
time'
even more special-and goes to
kick it with her own friends.

Girls think a guy crying is weak.
Grown women offer their shoulder
and a tissue.

Girls want to be spoiled
and tell their man so.

Grown women show him and make
him comfortable enough to reciprocate
without fear of losing his 'manhood'.

Girls get hurt by one man and
make all men pay for it.
Grown women know that he
was just one man.

Girls fall in love and chase
aimlessly after the object of their

affection, ignoring all 'signs'.
Grown women know that sometimes
the one you love doesn't always love you

back and they move on without bitterness.

Girls will read
this and get an attitude.
Grown women will read this and
pass it on to other grown women.

Good News !

My dog is home !!!!!! We were really happy to see eachother !

Meanwhile in the same Magazine...

There was an article on Palin Supporters. Some of who were Democrats and are now supporting Palin because she is a woman. Congrats to them, they have fallen victims of McCain's trap of getting republicans to vote for him . Daddy Yankee to get the Latino's to vote for him and Palin to get women to vote for him. Daddy Yankee does not even live in the United States. He was probably paid. If you vote republican , we would still have a male president. Did these girls also get paid to speak so highly of Palin?

P.S. I was sooooo not paying attention to the attractive sweet guy sitting next to me .

How could she ?

As I was heading downtown on the subway early sunday afternoon to meet with a client I sat in my seat reading an article from the NY Post Page Six Magazine with a confounded look on my face. I was so into the magazine, I did not even notice the attractive sweet looking dude reading over my arm. Kind of hard to do with my lack of concentration. I just could not believe what I was reading . It did not make any sense to me at all. So a writer at Page Six came out the closet as a Republican. Now there is nothing wrong with that . To each it's own but the things she wrote... wtf?

In creative industries where everything is projected through a spectrum of
coolness, being a rightie rubs off cred faster than a Brillo pad. "I
restrain
myself at every dinner party and work lunch—really every situation
in my life,"
a secretly Republican fashion photographer revealed to me a few
weeks ago. He
won't divulge his name because, he says, "I don't want to
damage my career."

OK Sure the fashion industry is mostly Democratic, but it is not because it is "cool" to be one, it is because we, like many other industries have experienced first hand of what these last 8 years have done to our industry. Like it's obvious that Fleming does not work on a retail/wholesale level to see these effects. I have been working for small fashion businesses for a couple of years now. Let me tell you , things have not been great for a long time . The costs of making clothing and accessories has risen, causing designers (especially independent designers) to make less pieces or charge higher wholesale prices. This causes stores to sell at an even higher retail price. A higher retail price causes consumers to think twice about their purchases, leading them to buy more items on sale than at full retail price. This means more stock is now left behind at stores. There is less room and less money for retailers to purchase more clothing leading designers with extra stock that will not sell or less profit because negotiations now have to be made. Less of a profit means cuts and this includes laying people off. If people keep getting laid off , the small fashion houses are going to start closing and now Fleming will have nothing to write about leading her without a job. When she finds herself in that situation, she will wake up and regret voting for McCain because Mc.Cain is all about fixing "Wall street" first instead of fixing "Main street".

GRRRRRR...

I just hate waking up turning on NY1 and hearing more sad news about people killing people. Too many people crying over a lost one. What the hell is the point ? I just never understood the point of taking away another person's life. If you are reading this and you are thinking about using a taser , a gun, a knife or what ever to hurt someone I would like you to think about it first. Think about the family this person would leave behind. Put yourself in that person's shoes. Think about the consequences you will face . Put the weapon down ... thanks .

P.S. If you are feeling insecure as if life is unfair , the only person that can change that is you . Do not go out there making someone else miserable because of your misery. It's just not right and it is not what we were put on this earth to do. Learn to forgive... I'm not saying forget ... but just dust shit off and things will be better for you. and if it's all about money issues , go find a job or hustle or something ... we all have money issues right now. If you have not tuned in ... the US is in a bad economic state. so chances are you will be hurting someone that might not have anything in his pocket . How sad would that be if it were you ?

Is Pharrell really a PC?

There is Hope

So my dad just called and they can operate. Sad to know we have vets that don't really care about helping animals and their solution is euthanasia for everything. Thank goodness we have vets that actually care about saving animals. Mecca is going into the operating room . Let's hope for the best.

Now about the debates

I am going to keep this short. YAY to not focusing on what is good for Wall street and focusing more on main street. YAY to making education cheaper. YAY to eliminating the programs that do not work. NAY to McCain being a liar. NAY to McCain's sob stories. NAY to the people that believe his sob stories .

Its 3:14 am

on a Friday. I was planning on staying home to watch the debate and the Sex and City movie I purchased today. I got to see all of the debate (which I will discuss next ) and some of Sex and the City. Half way through the movie my sis and I had to head to Yonkers to take my dog to the emergency room. My dog has not been feeling to well in the past few days. She was taken to the vet earlier today, we were told she has an infected uterus. Tonight she was shaking , out of breath and whining. Kind of had me worried. We now have to wait until tomorrow morning so that we can be 100% sure of what she has. I am now here extra sleepy typing away. :Sigh: I will sleep tomorrow ...
P.S. I love my Tank Theory t-shirt. Thanks Rich !
