Garnier Blow Dry Perfecter

Most of you know I have really curly hair that I love wearing during the summer, but once the summer ends, I wear it straight. I've been dying to start blow drying my own hair to save some money and some transportation time, but my hair can sometimes be unmanageable. I purchased a box of the Garnier Blow Dry Perfecter and got to work last week. The smell was disgusting. It made the whole apartment smell like the strongest relaxer you can ever imagine. Wait , before you say anything about me relaxing my hair , let me just say that it is not the case, I refuse to relax my hair. I can still wear my hair curly, it's just less frizzy now.

The 1st blow out was not that great. I don't know if the humid weather took part of it , but I was not too pleased with the thickness of my hair... My hair isn't even thick ! Today I tried again and I must say it was a whole lot easier to dry it and get it to look just like the salon. I am not going to front , I had to part my hair in many different sections, and have a little more patience than the last time, but it worked !

From the Daily Love ...

"Love and appreciation are identical vibrations. Appreciation is the vibration of alignment with who-you-are. Appreciation is the absence of everything that feels bad and the presence of everything that feels good. When you focus upon what you want - ;when you tell the story of how you want your life to be - you will come closer and closer to the vicinity of appreciation, and when you reach it, it will pull you toward all things that you consider to be good in a very powerful way."

Saw this while at Ricky's picking up some Essie Nail polish... So funny cause I was recently talking to one of my girls about people that have this fetish.

AgentAnything.com

While on the subway earlier today, one of tthe Agent Anything Ad's caught my attention. I looked into the company as soon as I got home. This company is basically a new means for College students to make a little extra cash by running any kind of errands for people who are too busy to run their own. I think it's a pretty cool idea, being that a lot of New Yorkers work so much , that there are things they never get to do , that need to be done. I went on their twitter and by the looks of it, they are not that popular yet but have spent a good amount of money on advertising and marketing. It seems as if it has potential, they just need more people to "post missions" so that the students can go and "run missions". So think of the things you have to get done right now, how much you will pay,  how much extra time you will gain for yourself and get right on to posting that errand up !

Recently Watched: No Impact man

A 5th avenue,  manhattan couple or shall I say man decides to change their lifestyle to make no environmental impact for a year. The reason I say man is because it seemed like it was his thing to do and the wife was going along with it for no reason other than being his wife. I'll get back to this later. The changes in their lifestyle included : no electricity for 6 months, cloth diapers for the baby , food from the farmers market, no shopping for a whole year (YIKES!) , minimizing the amount of garbage produced and using a box with worms to eat the garbage that they did produce. At the end they decide what works and what doesn't and they implement what works into their daily lives.

Took a trip to Target on Friday morning and saw this amazing invention. I don't know how long it has been out because I don't remember the last halloween we used pumpkins to decorate. However, this would of been my dream come true as a little girl. I hated getting my hands dirty with sticky pumpkin seeds and all that stringy junk. YUK. I can't even think about it right now. This Mr. Potato head idea is pretty dope though. Just stick face pieces into the pumpkin , and walaaaah! you have yourself a new face  anytime you need a "change".

I was working the Coterie show for Point A Showroom. They represent Bleulab denim which was the line I was working with. These jeans are so awesome. They are reversible jeans . It's like buying two pairs of jeans for the price of one. I wore mine out one night and girls were going crazy! Think about it...  they are great for traveling because they save more space in your suitcase. They are also great to wear during the day and then to be flipped over to wear the darker side at night with some sexy heels. You can go check them out at Henri Bendels and Atrium if you are in in NYC, if in LA you can find them in American Rag.
It was a pretty good show, spring is looking amazing ! I am excited !

From the Daily Love ...

Every day I am grateful that when it comes to working , I don't settle for less. I don't take jobs just to have a paycheck , I only accept those that I know will have my heart. I was just speaking to my girls 1st thing this morning about this because I felt that they had to hear it. Then I opened up THE DAILY LOVE email of today and it was totally on point with the moment. I swear these emails are also a blessing because Mastin always seems to send out the right ones at the right time. ( go subscribe ! )  Just when I think I can't anymore, they give me that extra push telling me "bitch don't look back now, keep it moving , you are getting closer and closer " in a way. It's perfect for my "boot camp". I am participating in my own little "boot camp" where I am going to turn all my negativity into positivity, I will learn to be grateful for all my blessings, and most importantly to learn how to love myself unconditionally. This will allow all the bad stuff out and all the good things in that I know are meant for me. Before I post today's Daily Love message I just want to tell you to TRUST and KNOW and dont FEAR and DOUBT.

Mastin Says:
Life ends not when you die, but when you stop believing in your true calling. Your true calling isn't something your friends, parents or lovers want you to become. Your true calling isn't living vicariously through someone else. And most certainly your true calling isn't working just to "make a living" and "get by".

Ceola and BLYNK

I attended the Ceola and BLYNK fashion show presented by RS Pop up Shop at The Lab Gallery earlier today. It was my first time seeing the Ceola line. I have known about BLYNK for a minute now. Dominique Sade is actually one of my sister's friend who was introduced to me back when I was Fashion Editor of Spanglish magazine. Her swimsuits have always been this stunning and they keep getting better and better . Check out more photos after the jump :o)

Bessi by Carlos Zuniga

I attended the Nolcha Fashion week event yesterday. A friend of a friend,  Carlos was showcasing his fly shoe collection Bessi made up of women's shoes and men's sneakers. Check out the pics below. Oh and by the way, Bessi Shoes were voted as one of the top 7 ( along with Christian Louboutin )  by Zink Magazine

Got this quote from my cousin .

‎"Preocupate más por tu carácter que por tu reputación. Tu carácter es lo que realmente eres, mientras que tu reputación es solo lo que los otros creen que tú eres."

The World would be a better place if ...

I have started to see why the world is the way it is more and more each day. It's pretty messed up and it will get worse if no one does anything about it. The first place to start is to ask how we can make the world a better place and then start within each of us to make that change. I went around asking how you thought the world would be a better place and here are some responses. I would love to hear more. Please comment BELOW and let's make some changes :o)

"People stop Hatin'!"
"if evil did not exist"
"People weren't ignorant"
"People would not be afraid to be honest and to be receptive to genuine people"
" I was their queen! :)"
"if I didn't have to pay my student loans"
"If people get to love themselves first and not judge others all the time... when you judge others, you are judging yourself ."
"if people would care more about their communities and less about consumption"
"If we all stop trying to change every individual and accept them for just what they are. Live our own lives as best as possible. If we all would stop walking with our backs towards the future cuz we are to scared to start taking control of our own lives bc we are too busy checking and re-analysing our past. If we all let everyone see us for who WE choose to be and not what society wants us to be."
"If we all live in the now."
"if our decisions were based on personal choice, and not what society dictates."
"Americans weren't morons"
"If the world didn't revolve around money and power"

Fashion's Night Out 2010

This year I spent Fashion's Night Out in Soho. It was a different experience than hanging out in the meat packing district last year. I do not know if it was the location or the fact that more people knew about it this year but it was overwhelming with too many people in the way. I was able to hit up the Diesel , AX , WINK and Hugo Boss stores. After that it went down hill. People or shall I say kids were starting fights on the streets and etc. I was so disappointed. There are always ignorant people that have to ruin the wonderful blessings that this beautiful city of ours has to offer. Besides the ignorance , I had a blast with my friends. Check out the pics :o) .

From the Daily Love...

"I found that every single successful person I've ever spoken to had a turning point and the turning point was where they made a clear, specific, unequivocal decision that they were not going to live like this anymore. Some people make that decision at 15 and some people make it at 50 and most never make it at all."

Bag addiction ...

I saw this bag by Rebecca Minkoff  last Spring @ Intermezzo... It's the perfect bag for me. I have been looking for something like this for about 3 seasons. I am a small person and not all totes look great on me. They are always huge , or if they are the right size, the leather doesn't feel right, or they hang too low . I am picky as hell when it comes to handbags, like shoes , it becomes difficult to find the ones with perfect details to fit your needs.   The handles on this tote are shorter than the average tote handles and the square shape makes it hard for me to get lost behind it.   It also looks "grown up" which is perfect for carrying my work stuff around and then hitting up a nice place after a long day of running around .
I love Rebecca Minkoff bags because she has a compartment for everything you can think of , which results in a very organized bag, making it easy to find my keys at the end of a very long night. The lining is of good quality. I have to admit that I don't take good care of my bags , and my MAC has gone through hell and has survived the summer.

Da Capo Necklace

Dear Summer,

You're almost gone, such a despairing thing to face. You have been a memorable one indeed.  With you came a profusion of life lessons to be learned, more than I would ever think to attain in such a short period of time. You taught me that miracles do happen. In fact, MIRACLE has been a key word this last month. "In God we trust" became a phrase that I will forever keep in the forepart of my mind. You taught me the meaning of a REAL problem. Helping me dust off the negative energy brought on to me by "problems".
You gave me the chance to experience what it is like to have such a dope connection to someone that could have possibly went for many more seasons but was only allowed just one. I am ok with that. My standards are now higher. Along with this lesson, you  also taught me that the only thing I have control over is what is inside me. I can not make someone see something that they have any notion of , they have to see it on their own, even if it's too late before they finally see it. "Too late" has been a fear of mine, but now that I think about it , everything happens at it's correct timing. There is no such thing as "too late". What it really means is that it's not meant to happen, and something better is in store at it's correct timing.
This season has brought me many blessings. The fact that I am going to be an aunt in a few months is beyond amazing. The connection to that unborn baby in my sister's belly is unexplainable. That's one person that is going to have the world from me. My family as individuals have come to learn some life lessons as well this summer, causing only positive change. My family and friends have no idea how blessed I feel to have them in my life.Especially the group of girls who made this summer awesome regardless of the craziness going on. OMG , what would life had been without them? Something I have yet to learn is how to better manifest my feelings , but I guess that writing this in public is a start.
The greatest lesson you have taught me Summer, is " When the student is ready , the Teacher will show up". With this lesson , I am entering the new season with a new frame of mind. I have to let things go and let be...
